Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is closing in on an exit from Anfield just a year after signing a new contract with the Reds.
That’s according to a report saying the Egyptian king recognizes that the Merseysiders are nearing the end of their current cycle. This season has been Liverpool’s toughest season under Jurgen Klopp, with the club 24 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal and out of all competitions by mid-March.
Despite this, Salah has still scored 22 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions this season and remains one of the brightest sparks at the club.

French outlet Foot Mercato (opens in new tab)claim, however, that the 30-year-old has set his sights on a move to La Liga. Salah still has a two-year contract this summer.
With Barcelona struggling financially and rumors persisting that some of their stars could be put up for sale, it remains unlikely they can raise the kind of money it would cost to sign Salah. The Catalan team has a history of signing Liverpool stars, although outgoing Roberto Firmino, who is set to leave at the end of the current season, is more likely.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, would be a more likely destination, although it may still be unlikely. Los Blancos have used Federico Valverde and Rodrygo on the right wing this season — and would probably be happy with the opportunity to add a world-class player in his prime in that spot.
While the cost of bringing Salah to the Bernabeu may be a little too high, the European champions could opt to move to the Egypt international if they miss out on Jude Bellingham. after capturing Eden Hazard in 2019, on their way to bringing in the next generation in Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Endrick and, they hope this summer, Bellingham.

“Like Sadio Mane who left for Bayern last summer, Salah could see himself joining a major European club to redefine his career,” the report said.
