As a result, there isn’t a long list of Liverpool teammates lining up to try and beat him. “I don’t think there is, to be honest,” he said.
“I played Trent Alexander-Arnold in the final in the ePremier League Invitational during the lockdown; I then represented Wolves and he represented Liverpool, and I beat him. He doesn’t play that often these days, so I don’t think there’s a man who can beat me!”
During his time with the Portuguese national team, has he ever faced Cristiano Ronaldo at FIFA? “I don’t think Ronaldo is a fan of video games,” Jota chuckled. If CR7 thought there was a chance of defeat, chances are he wouldn’t be playing at all. “Yes, exactly!” Jota smiled. “He’s very competitive.”
