Details are limited at the moment, but speculation abounds that there could be new game modes or league formats.
When asked how Fantasy Premier League will evolve, whether through adjustments to the current game modes on offer or something entirely new, Willis highlighted the rebranding FPL underwent for the 2022/23 campaign, as well as the launch of the ‘Second Chance’ League. allowing players to restart their teams from scratch from game week 17.
“I mentioned the new format we’re launching for next season, which is very exciting. Even for this season, the game underwent a rebrand — we launched the Second Chance competition that allowed people to come back in and get a free reboot, which was very popular and probably something we’ll try to repeat.
“There is a lot of feedback from the community all the time about little things that could be improved and improved, making those changes fit naturally as part of that week of competition.
“So you’re in your build-up, preparation, excitement phase and you pick your teams. But then how does it work as a compliment to the live coverage, that’s still to be explored. There’s always a lot to do and we’re certainly building from a strong position.
While no specific details about the new format have been revealed, FPL players have begun to speculate about what the new game mode might entail.
With two game modes currently on offer — Fantasy and Fantasy Draft, largely aimed at a US audience — perhaps a third could target players who are less inclined to delve into the details of the game on a weekly basis, and prefer a more casual way of playing. .
A player saidMy guess is a Best Ball competition, where you pick a bigger team for GW1 and don’t make any changes to the season, with the top scoring players automatically going into your weekly XI.
“Or a modified version where you have no transfers, but your team chooses from a larger selection every week.”
